Today, in Inalcotrends, we present a project by our partner IL Lusso for a new showroom in Kramerville, one of Johannesburg’s most select areas. The showroom occupies a three-storey building covering a surface area of 4,500 m2, with interiors fully designed using MDi surfaces.
IL Lusso is a distributor of top international brands of furniture for the South African market, displayed in its new showroom through a harmonious combination of eighteen brand boutiques featuring furniture, lighting and kitchens.
The project’s design, by architect Jean Du Rand, was based on one key premise: to use MDi surfaces by Inalco throughout the whole building. For the main floor and stairs, the Pacific collection was chosen due to its grey stone finish.
Du Rand designed a fully customized space for each boutique, based on the MDi surface chosen by each firm, using Vint, Geo, Storm, Iseo, Astral, Ground and Masai.
The outcome is an exclusive big showroom that pushes back the boundaries of product displays by offering a whole new visitor experience.
