Gran Hotel Sol y Mar, The Unusual Hotel, “a city hotel far from the city”

Today at Inalcotrends we stayed at the Gran Hotel Sol y Mar, The Unusual Hotel, located on the beachfront in Calpe (Alicante – Spain) that has been awarded by Tripadvisor as the best 4 star hotel in the Comunidad Valenciana. In the refurbishment of its common areas, Xavier Pastor has chosen several Inalco collections, using them on different applications.

At the reception of the hotel you can already see the change, with one-person counters made with Azalai collection, a symbol of elegance and exclusivity. A relaxing area with sofas, chairs and armchairs by the firms Andreu World and Momocca allows clients to rest while keeping the hall open without physically limiting the space.

In the center of the lobby we find the most striking area, an igloo-shaped dome that gives its name to the 360º Bar and where hosts can enjoy live performances. Two large gantries designed with Azalai collection invite you to access and discover the outstanding bar counter, where wood, matt gold finishes and again Azalai MDi iTOP collection in Black color create an elegant combination.

At the back of the dome we find an area with sea views, bounded by columns of Azalai and structures topped by Adan model by Vondom in different colors.

From here we access the Food Gallery, in which a totally different combination of materials and colors from the lobby can be found. In a main setting different areas of meat, fish, vegetables are located, but each one with its own space. The countertops where the showcookings are made have been designed with Larsen iTOP collection whose white color brings a lot of light to the space. Here customers can taste a variety of foods, from homemade desserts to sushi, ceviches, assorted cheeses or freshly hand-cut ham.

There´s no better way to enjoy all this gastronomy than in a lounge overlooking the sea and the iconic Peñón de Ifach.
